GATESHEAD Thunder have continued their recruitment drive with the acquisition of two more overseas players and the re-signing of popular Fijian international forward Tabua Cakacaka.

Netani Suka, who has Premier League experience in Australia with West Tigers and Penrith Panthers as well as the Fiji Bati side, has agreed to join Gateshead. Half-back, loose forward or full-back Dean Jamieson will also put pen to paper after playing Down Under in the Premier League with the Sharks last year.

Thunder have already signed seven players after a season of struggle in 2007 and coach Dave Woods is delighted to add two more to the roster.

“Netani is tough and will help with our pack, playing back row or prop while Dean has a good kicking game and directs the team around the park well,” he said. “We are also pleased with Tabua’s decision to re-sign and the squad is looking pretty good at the minute.”

Cakacaka left Gateshead after a two-year spell to join York City Knights but returned midway through last season.
