HOTSHOT Harry Tulip and Mark Dunn were on target for Ponteland United on Saturday as they kept their title dreams alive with a 2-0 win over Ashington Colliers in the Northern Alliance Premier Division.

Tulip was at his deadly best, charging down a loose back-pass and rounding the committed goalkeeper to roll in the opener in the 35th minute.

Dunn ensured the three precious points in the 75th minute, but their biggest cheer came when they heard rivals Alnwick Town had been beaten 1- 0 at Walker Central.

Fingernails are being bitten at the bottom end of the table.

Wark are in real trouble after going down 3-2 at Percy Main, who had Matty Dunn on target twice with a Matthew McLaughlan cross-shot sandwiched in between.

Malcolm Morien added Main’s third in the 82nd minute, with John Framelton’s last-minute goal not enough for the visitors.

Cramlington Town’s late surge may prove too late, but they are going down fighting and Simon Wilson hit a double as they beat fellow strugglers Murton 2-1.

Tom Wilkie scored for the visitors, who are not out of the relegation woods yet.

Stocksfield breathed a huge sigh of relief as Steven Forster hit a last-minute leveller to earn them a precious point at Seaton Delaval.

Nick Gray and Liam Cairns had fired Delaval ahead, but Ryan Marshall pulled one back to give the Griffins hope in the 71st minute and Forster made it all-square in stoppage time.
