WHITLEY Warriors bounced back from Saturday’s defeat in Kirkcaldy to extend an unbeaten English National League run to 24 games with a comprehensive win over Nottingham.

WHITLEY Warriors bounced back from Saturday’s defeat in Kirkcaldy to extend an unbeaten English National League run to 24 games with a comprehensive win over Nottingham.

The Lions scored first via Joe Wightman after only two minutes and it took Whitley until 13.23 to equalise through Callum Watson.

Whitley scored again through Shaun Kippin, Adam Reynolds (2) and Peter Zajac before Nick Whyatt pulled one back for Lions.

But the home side scored three goals in the last four minutes.

THE Warriors saw their 14-game unbeaten run ended away to Northern league leaders Fife on Saturday, the 4-1 defeat meaning the Scottish side hold pole position in the title race.
