Callum Watson gave the home side a flying start after just 47 seconds, but Whitley had to wait until 9.14 for Adam Reynolds to double their lead; and 50 seconds later Ritchie Thornton made it 3-0.

Jordan Barnes extended the lead but slack defending saw Jamie Parsons score the visitors’ only goal.

Whitley scored again via Reynolds (3), Shaun Kippin, Josh Maddock, Nathan Ryder and Peter Zajac.
