The ladies section at Ramside Hall have recently organised their 1st Ladies Pink Ribbon Charity Day in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and what a success it turned out to be.

This was the first of what will be an annual event at Ramside, drawing on ladies from all over the North of England.

On behalf of the Ramside club, Christine Gott said: “We had ladies enter from Ravensworth, Slaley, Whitley Bay, Houghton, Brancepeth, Sedgefield, Durham City, Tyneside, Castle Eden, Darlington, Mansfield and Blackpool as well as or own ladies from Ramside.

“On the day, there was a fantastic Pimms Gazebo just off the 18th green and pink cupcakes at the halfway house. Local companies sponsored many of the holes and numerous raffle prizes were donated ranging in value from £30 to £200 and included a blu-ray DVD player, lessons from a PGA pro, dinner, bed and breakfast deals, a day out at Hexham Races and Kielder Water, lots of nights out, golf day deals, etc, etc.

“There was fantastic feedback with many promising more numbers next year. And the icing on the cake was the delayed outcome of the Ryder Cup, as this was decided on the day of our competition – the atmosphere in the clubhouse on the afternoon was tremendous.”

The players were then treated to a Bucks Fizz Reception with Canapés, followed by a Dinner and Presentation Ceremony in the Ballroom of the Hotel.

Christine added: “Some of the male members of Ramside had a separate little competition as they wanted to support the event. In total we raised the grand total of £6,250.00 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and I would like to thank everybody for their support and generosity.”
