GOLF enthusiasts are being invited to take part in a charity golf competition at Matfen Hall, Northumberland to help raise vital funds for St Oswald's Hospice.
St Oswald's provides hospice care to North East adults and children with life limiting conditions.
Patients and families from across the region, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and North Durham, can benefit from the services provided.
No charge is made for the service, ensuring hospice care is available to everyone.
St Oswald's annual golf tournaments are popular events with many local companies taking part.
This year sees the competition return to Matfen Hall in Northumberland on Wednesday, September 9th.
Teams of four cost just £360 (£90 per person), which includes breakfast on arrival, a round of golf on Matfen's picturesque course, various competitions throughout the day plus an evening meal with champagne reception, prize-giving and entertainment.
Jayne Crow, Community Fundraiser at St Oswald's said: "As a registered charity with annual running costs now exceeding £7 million, we rely heavily on voluntary giving. Each year, we need to raise £5 million through the generosity of our local community and events like this are vital to us.
"We are encouraging golf lovers to come forward and join in the day. By taking part in our golf day, the players will help us to continue helping so many others within our region."
The winning team will receive the St Oswald's Golf Tournament Trophy and various other prizes. Other competitions taking place on the day include 'Nearest the Pin', 'Longest Drive', 'Hole in One - win a car!', 'Beat the Pro' and a 'Putting Competition'.
Jayne added: "We'd like to thank our sponsors, DNR Group and Domnick Hunter Parker, as well as Matfen Hall for their support. Without their generosity we simply couldn't continue to host the event."
