THE Northumberland-based chairman of the English Women’s Golf Association, Sue Whittaker, yesterday announced the appointment of four non-executive directors to EWGA’s management board.

They are Andrew Kean, an entrepreneur and company managing director; Chrissie Owens, a sponsorship and marketing consultant; Sylvia Perrins, the director of a national skills academy; and Bill Richards, a partner in a business law firm.

This follows the resignations in October, following a power struggle, of four non-executive directors, including Jane Longhorn, from Hartlepool.

A member of Seaton Carew, Longhorn was the only member of the EWGA company management who had held office on what formerly was the committee-run English Ladies Golf Association.
