Golf clubs in the North East can be seen from a whole new angle thanks to a local company specialising in the latest photographic equipment.
Mspgolf, part of Malcolm Singleton Photography and based in Darlington, is offering golf clubs the chance to put together special aerial views of their courses that can be used in eye-catching guides and stroke savers as well as bang up to date websites.
But Malcolm doesn't rely on planes or helicopters to get a birdseye view - instead he uses a ground-based elevation system that allows him to gets his cameras up to 50 feet high.
Malcolm, a keen golfer himself, has just launched the new venture after putting together an aerial hole-by-hole course guide for Darlington Golf Club, where he is a member.
He's also working with several other clubs in the region on similar projects.
Malcolm, who's been running his photography business from his home town for many years, also specialises in covering corporate golf days and has worked on several events for the PGA North Region.
He said: "We can offer golf clubs a really good way of putting together an invaluable guide to their course. The elevation system can go up to 50ft, which ensures we can get some superb shots of each hole.
"What we'd tend to do is take a first picture behind the tee, then move up to where the second shot should be from and then up to the green and so on. In this way we can build up an exact picture of each hole, which can be used in a number of ways in course guides, stroke savers and so on.
"Clubs are also concentrating a lot more on their websites these days and this type of aerial picture looks really great on the internet; it gives a truly realistic view of each hole on the course."
Malcolm is also hoping to build up his corporate photography business in the North East.
He added: "Most of this type of work I've done has been further south, particularly in the Merseyside and Lancashire area but I'd love to do more in the North East.
"Again, we offer a really state-of-the-art service in that we take pictures at the first tee and with our portable lab can have the prints ready to hand out to the players as they finish their rounds. It's a service that proves really popular."
