CHAMPIONS Pegswood Ex-Services finally began their league campaign and quickly slipped into the groove with a 4-0 win over Bomarsund Social Club.

David Chivers grabbed two of the total, with Kevin Bell and Lee McAndrew adding a strike apiece.

Stakeford Half Moon beat Stobswood Welfare 6-2.

Liam Candlish helped himself to a hat-trick, Joe Moscrop bagged two and Ben Lorking also netted. Andrew Neil scored twice in reply for the Welfare.

Ashington RAOB heaped more misery on Alnmouth Argyle in Division Two.

Argyle shipped 15 goals against leaders North End Trap last week, but the Buffs did even better with a 24-1 victory.

Sean Gibson and Craig Robinson scored seven goals each, Leonard Lansbury plundered five, Joe Race scored twice and Mark Race, Steven Forrester and Stuart Douglas completed the scoring.

John Barlow's strike for Argyle would have been scant consolation.

North End Trap stayed ahead of the Buffs with their fifth league win out of five after goals from Josh Baston, Mark Wenray and Jonny Spiers earned them a 3-2 win at Morpeth Riverside Lodge.

River Coquet FC claimed three points in a 3-1 win at Amble Dock Hotel.

Alex Potts was on target for the Dock, whilet Gary Taylor (2) and Dan Fairbridge netted for the Coquet.

Village Inn Longframlington won 4-3 at home to Morpeth Chantry.

The game between Felton and East Chevington sadly had to be abandoned due to a serious injury. Felton were leading 3-0 at the time of the abandonment.
