NEWCASTLE had to settle for a draw after their FA Premier Academy game on Tyneside burst into life in the closing stages.

Front man Satido Berhamino headed West Brom in front with just eight minutes left on the clock.

United’s response, however, was swift as Dan Taylor, whose earlier header was ruled out for offside, levelled three minutes later, flicking home a cross from substitute Michael Maddison.

The Magpies had opened brightly with Michael Richardson putting a 12-yard free header wide.

Stephen Folan shot just over and then Taylor’s half volley was tipped past the post by Shane Lewis at full stretch.
