Harraby were 3-2 third round victors at Keswick in the Cumberland Senior Cup, Stephen Archibald scoring a late winner after they lost a two-goal lead.

Murton booked a semi-final slot in the Durham FA Trophy by beating last season’s winners Rutherford 5-0, all the goals coming in the first half hour from Steve Turner (2), Mark Smith, Michael Walton and Paul Wintrip.

Premier Division leaders Heddon have dropped five points in their last two outings and at Cramlington Town they had to settle for a 2-2 draw. All four goals came in the first half with Heddon twice fired in front by Ian McElroy and Max Turner. Cramlington’s David Atkinson and Andrew Millar levelled.

Walker stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games by beating Ashington Colliers 3-1. Ben Miley, Ian Mills and David Dormand netted, David Brown scoring for Ashington. Gillford Park drew with Seaton Delaval. Paul Gibbs fired Delaval into the lead but Darren Addison equalised. Ponteland United’s latest victims were Blyth Town, who were beaten 5-2 despite Danny Beresford scoring twice in the first half. Liam McIvor, Dominic Clauzel (2), Richard Kent and Sean Willis replied.

Heaton Stannington beat Northbank 3-0 thanks to goals by Chris Johnson (2) and John Scott. Newcastle University lifted off the bottom rung after beating Shankhouse with goals by Dave Woolman (hat-trick), Joe Foote and James Gavin.
