MISSED chances cost Walker Central dearly in their home tie with Prudhoe Town in the Northumberland Senior Cup.
They were beaten 2-0 by their Northern League opponents but wasted scoring opportunities after Paul Mills gave Prudhoe the lead. Ian Dunn spurned openings for Walker and with six minutes to go Simon Reay scored Prudhoe’s second.
Carlisle City and Northbank suffered similar disappointments in the Cumberland Senior Cup. City’s only scorer in a 3-1 defeat by hosts Netherall was Daniel Gardner while Northbank were soundly beaten 4-0 by visitors Hearts of Liddlesdale.
Harraby Catholic Club beat cup visitors Penrith United 3-1. Gillford Park could join them in the next round if they beat visitors Aspatria this Saturday.

Newcastle University secured their first win of the season with a goal by Alec Hutchinson enough against Blyth Town. Cramlington Town lost 3-0 to Seaton Delaval.
