Darlington could be prepared to part with record buy Julian Joachim - now that manager Dave Penney has signed Swansea striker Pawel Abbott.
The 32-year-old former Aston Villa star is understood to be keen to move nearer the Midlands.
He scored 10 times for Quakers last season after arriving from Boston for around £100,000 last August.
But he struggled for much of last season with Darlington, shining in the Carling Cup run, when he netted against Championship side Stoke City, then twice against Premiership outfit Reading.
Joachim (pictured) frustrated manager Dave Penney at times, and the manager is looking for much more consistency from his strikers in the coming campaign.
Penney searched long and hard this summer for a prolific scorer, and now believes he has got just that in the shape of 25-year-old Abbott.
Darlington wanted a 20-goal-a-season man to complement the willing running of Gregg Blundell and power of tall youngster Tommy Wright, both of whom will chip in with goals.
With Penney having paid £100,000 for Abbott, he may be tempted to recoup some of that by parting with Joachimo.
