ALAN Pardew was an impressed spectator last night in Leyland as Sylvain Marveaux hit a brace against Bolton Wanderers at the County Ground.
A strong Newcastle United second string kept up their solid start to the FA Premier Reserve League season.
United grabbed the lead on 23 minutes.
Dan Gosling rolled the ball down the left channel and Sam Ameobi struck a powerful shot which struck Bolton goalkeeper Rob Lainton on the chest and looped high into the net.
United could have doubled their advantage on 36 minutes when Michael Richardson cut in down the left before finding Sylvain Marveaux (pictured right), but his effort drifted wide of the goal.
Moments later Ameobi hit an effort straight at Lainton after forcing his way through the hosts’ defence.
On 62 minutes Sylvain Marveaux dinked the ball past Lainton with the outside of his left foot across the penalty box to double the lead after Lovenkrands had slipped him in.
With 14 minutes left Shane Ferguson made a good run down the left wing and crossed perfectly for Marveaux at the back post who hooked home with his right foot to make it 3-0 and finish the game off as a contest.
