Tom Wade hopes to have a full squad to select from for today’s visit of Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The Blyth Spartans boss was without a number of injured players for Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Barwell.

But Wade said: “I’m hoping with four days rest that I will have a full squad to pick from.

“They have recently signed some young players from Sheffield United so we will have no easy task but I hope our crowd will get behind us again, as they did on Saturday.

“The hard core are brilliant supporters - just fantastic!

“They understand what we are trying to do and pulled us through that difficult conclusion to the Barwell match.”

Meanwhile, assistant boss Colin Myers has urged Spartans to close their festive campaign on a high note.

Blyth have been inconsistent in recent weeks, but Myers is confident they can string together a good set of results.

“We’ve huffed and puffed over Christmas, and overall it’s been a little bit disappointing,” said Myers.

“We should have got more than we did at Whitby, Trafford was a bit of a blow for us but then we dominated the game against Barwell with 10 men for an hour.

“But the lads are brilliant, you can’t ask for anything else from them.”
