Social housing contractor Forrest has been appointed by Anchor under one of its new long term agreements for planned works which could be worth nationally up to £350 million.
Anchor is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for the over 55s and, following the appointment, Forrest is now set to open a new office in Newcastle.
Forrest has been successful in its appointment to deliver planned investment works across 15,000 properties across Yorkshire, North East, North West and Cumbria.
Projects under the framework agreement include roofing, electrical and refurbishment work across the UK for retirement villages, residential care homes and sheltered schemes.
Lee McCarren, CEO at Forrest, said: “This win provides us with a new platform for growth in the North of England and will see us open our first office in the North East.
“Our continued success through framework agreements, which make up a significant proportion of our long term revenue, is a result of our strong relationships with some of the UK’s leading housing providers and the quality of our work. We now have the scale to compete for opportunities at a national level.”
Drew Robertson, category manager at Anchor, said: “We have spent a long time reviewing and ensuring we select the right suppliers that have the drive, structure and culture to allow us to deliver long term and sustainable improvements in the execution planned works. We believe, in Forrest, we have an organisation that is forward thinking and open to the new ways of working required under these contracts that will ensure we are all successful in meeting the challenging goals we have set”.
