A North East expert has landed a regular spot on a leading Radio 2 show.
Nick Brown, who lives in Gosforth, Newcastle, is to appear as The Jeremy Vine Show’s “Business Expert” answering listeners’ business queries between 1.30pm and 2pm today.
Mr Brown – usually known by Jeremy Vine as “Nicky” – was first asked to appear on the show in November.
He said: “It went well and they’ve asked me back to appear each month for the time being.
“It’s a chance for listeners to ring, Tweet and Facebook the Jeremy Vine show with any business questions. I’m looking forward to it.”
It’s a return to the airwaves for Mr Brown, 49. In the early 1990s he was a presenter at Metro Radio, BBC North as well as hosting the national children’s ITV links.
He quit broadcasting in 1994 at the age of 29 when he launched PR business Northern Profile. He built it up to employing over 50 staff at four offices in Newcastle, Leeds, London and Manchester, winning the national PR Week Award for Best Small Consultancy In the UK and representing national organisations such as Spam, the British Army, Nestle Ice Cream and North East baker Greggs.
In 2004, he sold his business for a seven figure sum. After spending the next few years enjoying “his retirement” and doing the school run and playing tennis three times a week he launched Corporate Exit, a consultancy which advises business owners on how to achieve the ultimate goal of selling their business just like he did.
His next date on the Vine show will be on February 5 between 1.30pm and 2pm.
