Three women are swapping farming for trekking when they take on a 26-mile charity challenge.

Catherine Bowman, Jayne Watson and Susie Nielson will be taking part in the Macmillan Trekathon on Saturday.

The trio will walk 26 miles along Hadrian’s Wall, starting near Humshaugh and finishing at Lanercost, near Brampton.

The women will be raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause close to all their hearts.

“I doubt there are many families that have not been affected by this terrible disease in one way or another,” said Susie.

Jayne added: “I know just what tremendous support Macmillan can give to a family when it matters most.”

Susie farms with her family at Moorhouse Farm, Lowick. Jayne Watson and Catherine Bowman are NFU Mutual insurance agents at Morpeth and Hexham respectively.
