A warning has been issued on a section of a flood prevention scheme installed 30 years ago near the mouth of the River Tweed at Berwick and which is now showing signs of breaking up.

A warning has been issued on a section of a flood prevention scheme installed 30 years ago near the mouth of the River Tweed at Berwick and which is now showing signs of breaking up.

Now councillors say £55,000 should be earmarked by the borough council in next year's budget to complete the scheme on the south bank of the river.

It would involve replacing part of the gabion wall.
