Driver cut free
A DRIVER was cut from the wreckage of a car, believed to be stolen, after careering into a solicitor's office.
The 24-year-old man was rescued by firefighters after the Honda Civic smashed into the front wall of the office in Pallion, Sunderland, and became embedded. The man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering serious head injuries and was in a stable condition in the intensive care unit yesterday. The work of Monkseaton based outdoor writer Geoff Holland, the website www.cheviotwalks.co.uk attracted over 3,600 visits during the month, a rise of 68% over the previous highest month's total.
