Teenage girl raped on Newcastle playing field

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a rape in Newcastle.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a rape in Newcastle. 

At 8.05pm on Friday officers received a report that a 14-year-old girl had been raped on the Kenton Park Sports Centre fields near Bradwell Road. 

Police attended and two youths, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of rape. Both were subsequently released on police bail. The girl and the two teenagers were known to each other. 

Officers are keen to trace a man seen walking his dog in the area at the time of the offence who may have witnessed the incident. 

Witnesses should call Northumbria Police on 101.
