A super-slimmer who shed 5st is now aiming to help others lose weight.
Katie Askew, 29, of Seaton Delaval, says she is back in shape after losing the excess pounds.
After moving into her first home, Kate found herself settling into a comfortable routine of long days at work followed by lazy evenings in front of the TV.
But with her weight slowly creeping up to 15 stone, Katie felt her confidence start to disappear.
She said: “I just didn’t feel comfortable with myself anymore. None of my clothes fitted properly and I’d feel awful no matter what I was wearing.
“I’ve never been a very sporty, active person but I started getting out of breath just going up the stairs. I found myself getting quieter and trying to blend into the background so people wouldn’t notice me”
The final straw came when looking at holiday snaps from a trip to Marrakech last year. Katie realised that even when she was supposed to
be smiling for the camera, she didn’t look happy.
With the help of Slimming World, Katy dropped five dress sizes and is now opening her own Slimming World group a Seaton Sluice First School at 7.15pm every Tuesday.
