At Belsay Hall, Northumberland children searched among the daffodils and dahlias for fairies hiding in the flowers.
Six-year-old Matthew Hewison and his cousins Rebecca, six, and Lauren Easton, eight, took to the task in the hope of winning some Easter goodies.
Contracts assistant Nicola Hewison, 31, of Oakfield Lane, Consett, County Durham, and her sister Karen Easton, 33, of Catchgate, Stanley, County Durham, said the family had a great day out.
Nicola said: "It's been fabulous. We've been really lucky with the weather.
"The kids have really enjoyed looking for the fairies and doing their crosswords."
