Prince William showed off his footballing skills today during a kick about with youngsters on his visit to a sports development project.

The 25-year-old was spending the morning at the Football Association’s Hat-Trick project in Newcastle, a scheme which provides a range of football opportunities for seven to 16-year-olds in disadvantaged communities.

In his role as president of the FA, William donned a white top, blue tracksuit bottoms and odd socks - a tradition from his Eton schooldays - as he took to the pitch with college students at the Centre for Sports at West Gate Community College.
