Passionate about pasties: Greggs has glam

Hollywood actress Milla Jovavich is addicted to Greggs pasties and they want to make her the face of the baking giant.

The model and actress started her love affair with the pasties when she visited her English boyfriend, movie director Paul Anderson.

The Newcastle bakery chain is now ready to approach Milla because they want to make her their official pasty poster girl.

Her passion for Greggs pasties, particularly their cheese and onion variety, began five years ago when she first visited the region with her Newcastle-born boyfriend.

The couple met on the set of Resident Evil, when Milla was Paul's leading lady, and they've been together seven years.

They live in Los Angeles but visit as often as they can to see Paul's family.

And while Milla enjoys trips to beauty spots such as Lindisfarne and Seahouses, a trip to the bakery is always first on the itinerary on North visits.

She said: "Whenever I'm there, the first thing I do is buy one. Oh my God, I love them. I have often said I would be the face of Greggs but they haven't approached me yet."

Greggs marketing director Scott Jefferson said: "We are genuinely trying to make contact with her through her agents and we would obviously love to work with her."
