New health advice clinics have been set up at the Derwentside Centre for Young People at the YMCA, Parliament Street, Consett.

New health advice clinics have been set up at the Derwentside Centre for Young People at the YMCA, Parliament Street, Consett. Sexual health clinics will run on Mondays from 3pm to 4.30pm and Wednesdays from noon to 1.30pm.

There is a chlamydia screening clinic on Tuesdays from 1pm to 4pm and a young people's clinic from 4pm to 5pm on Fridays. More information on (01207) 214251.

Pop festival

CHILDREN in care will see some of their favourite bands - including Girls Aloud, Daniel Bedingfield, Estelle and Bananarama - at the Pop to the Park 2005 concert at Bitts Park, Carlisle on Sunday. Cumbria County Council's local committee for Carlisle has helped sponsor it and has 120 tickets for children in care and their families.

Cookson fun

A PACKED programme of events has been lined up as part of this year's Summer Cookson Festival in South Tyneside. Every Tuesday and Thursday this month there will be children's street entertain-ment from 11.30am to 12.30pm in South Shields Town Centre and parties from 1.30pm to 4pm at The Amphitheatre.

There will be free concerts on Sundays at Bents Park - acts including Go West, John Miles' Big Band and Toyah - and there will also be brass bands in The Amphitheatre each Sunday. Programmes are available at www.visitsouthtyneside.co.uk or by calling (0191) 424-7985.
