The North East Ambulance Service's first response workers in Northumberland are holding a public meeting next Wednesday at the Granary Pub, The Links, Amble, at 7.30pm.

Hot decision

MEMBERS of Northumberland County Council's executive are expected to make a decision on controversial £10m reforms of the fire and rescue service at their meeting on March 13.

The plans involve closing fire stations in Ashington, Blyth, Morpeth and Cramlington and replacing them with new ones at Pegswood and West Hartford.
