Kids after a fashion

Little lambs and cheery daffs mean spring is sprung, as we head to Belsay Hall in Northumberland with kids kitted out in the latest designer gear.

Little lambs and cheery daffs mean spring is sprung, as we head to Belsay Hall in Northumberland with kids kitted out in the latest designer gear. Katharine Capocci caught up with them.

LONGER days and warmer weather have put a spring in the step of our young models.

And our model kids had an absolute ball at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, the English Heritage site in Northumberland.

With a medieval castle, a Greek Revival villa and thirty acres of stunning Grade I gardens linking the two, there’s plenty to occupy lively children.

Little girls put on the style with long shorts and funky leggings paired with pretty T-shirts. And as for those sweet little skirts – go on, give us a twirl.

Boisterous boys, meanwhile, will wear it well in long shorts and jeans, teamed with polo shirts and for a smarter look, trendy shirts and cardi.

Colourful spring and summer fashions that are fun, hard-wearing and look the business – all pretty important when it comes to childrenswear.

All we need now is some sunshine…

Designer Stella McCartney’s stunning crystal horse sculpture, Lucky Spot, is coming back to Belsay from Good Friday, April 10, 2009 until spring 2010.

The designer was inspired to create Lucky Spot following a visit to Belsay and it was a much-loved temporary exhibit in the 2004 Fashion at Belsay exhibition.

The jewelled curtain of thousands of Swarovski crystals hangs in the shape of a horse from the ceiling in the castle’s Great Hall.

A version of this fashion spread appears in April’s issue of North East Exclusive magazine, out April 10. Available to purchase from WHSmith and Fenwick. www.northeastexclusive.co.uk
