A man was cut free from wreckage after a car crash yesterday - but escaped with minor injuries.

Firefighters from Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland were called to the junction of the A67 and A66 in Bowes, County Durham, where three people were trapped after two cars crashed at 1.50pm. By the time they arrived two people had released themselves from the wreckage, but one man had to be cut loose.
