Police are searching the Northumberland countryside for a missing woman.
Janis Hall, 65, from Catton, near Hexham , was reported missing at 10.42pm last night.
She had last spoken to a relative on the phone at around 2pm.
Searches were carried out by Northumbria Police last night and are continuing today.
Officers are also speaking with all those who know Mrs Hall or have had contact with her over recent days.
Mrs Hall's disappearance is said to be out of character and police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
She is known to frequent Allendale and Hexham and often goes walking in the area.
Mrs Hall is described as being 5ft 4ins tall of medium build, with grey short hair, and wearing glasses.
She was also possibly wearing a green fleece coat, black trousers and a Russian fur hat.
Police temporary chief superintendent Debbie Ford said: "We're becoming increasingly concerned for Mrs Hall's welfare as going missing is out of character for her.
"I'd urge anyone who sees her or knows of her whereabouts, or Mrs Hall herself, to make contact with us as soon as possible."
