Insp Alan Patterson said officers were making high visibility patrols in the area.

Decision delay

HEALTH chiefs are delaying a final decision on the future of Morpeth Cottage Hospital, which has been under review since May.

Final recommendations were due to be made to the Northumbria Healthcare Trust board next week but the report is being postponed until October or November so that bosses can iron out key details.

Visitor site call

THE chairman of Berwick Civic Society has called for a top-class visitor centre to be created at Spittal Point at the mouth of the River Tweed at Berwick.

Alison Cowe said the point was a prime site which should become a magnet destination and include shops.
