Maternity wear from Mothercare

IN recent times, maternity fashion has gone from frumpy to fabulous. No longer are pregnant women required to hide behind voluminous tops, smock dresses and dungarees. They can accessorize their bump in an array of specially designed clothes from retailers like Blooming Marvellous and Mothercare. This means they can maintain a sense of style as well as the all important comfort factor.

This season Blooming Marvellous has introduced a new design team, and it certainly shows. They have put together a collection that is modern, easy to wear and that caters for every aspect of pregnancy.

It features pieces in soft, touchable fabrics like cashmere, cotton, wool and silk, ensuring that comfort is most definitely top of the agenda. Gorgeous dresses, detailed tops and trousers and skirts that feature discreet stretch panels at the sides to grow with your bump, mean that anything from here would be a welcome addition to your pregnancy wardrobe.

Stylish and practical changing bags in soft Italian leather and contemporary nylon will be a great way to add that little something extra to an outfit. Mammas and Papas introduce some great Autumnal pieces to their new season collection, with layers, chunky knits, colours and statement prints as the order of the day.

There’s a fantastic selection of winter florals (a key Autumn/Winter trend) printed on dresses and skirts as well as tops. Long sleeved T-shirts are layered under tunics and knitwear and earthy colours are introduced as a great way to liven up your winter wardrobe.

Mother and baby favourite, Mothercare have introduced a select, trend-led collection of maternity wear this Autumn. “Glossy Gothique” is a predominantly black and grey collection with embellished detail on tops and dresses. This is a huge new season trend seen on catwalks all over the world and features a colourway that is both flattering and stylish.

“Precious Jade” is a 40’s inspired collection featuring pussy bow blouses and tea dresses. The striking jade colour will look great with both jeans and smart black trousers for any occasion.

By selecting key pieces from each of these collections, you can make sure your pregnancy will be stylish, comfortable and practical throughout.
