A flytipper who struck at the entrance to a Northumberland cemetery has sparked outrage.

The Journal was sent this photograph which shows waste which appears to be from a building job outside the entrance to Lynemouth cemetery. The rubbish strewn across a gravel track appears to include a door.

The photo, which shows Lynemouth power station in the background, was taken by Kevin Hindmarsh.

He said: “Just thought instead of nice pics of Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and the like you would like to see what some uncaring house renovationists have dumped outside the Lynemouth cemetery gates, with no regard for the environment or for the feelings of people who have relatives interred there.

“It is a shame really because the Northumberland County Council have the cemetery looking in the best condition it has been in for years.”

The Journal has asked the county council for a comment.
