An airline pilot from the US was charged yesterday with being drunk before trying to board a transatlantic flight.

An airline pilot from the US was charged yesterday with being drunk before trying to board a transatlantic flight. James Yates, 46, from Ohio, was arrested at Manchester Airport on February 11. An American Airlines First Officer, he was about to get on a Boeing 767 with 209 passengers aboard. He appears at Trafford Magistrates Court today.
