An eclectic choral festival is to be held at Jarrow School on Friday, June 22 at 7pm.
The festivities at Field Terrace, Jarrow, will feature performances from nine local choirs, supported by the Bede Wind Philharmonic.

Nightjar trek
THE Forestry Commission is staging guided treks at dusk to search for the nocturnal nightjar in Hamsterley Forest, near Bishop Auckland, on June 22 and 29 and July 6.
Meet at 8.30pm at Hamsterley Forest Visitor Centre.

LOCAL people from the Volunteer Organisations Development Agency Active Youth Project and the Seawatch Foundation will be manning the North Tyneside section of the National Whale and Dolphin watch.
