VINTAGE vehicles are set to be the stars of a major rally in Northumberland next month.
The popular annual Kielder Vintage Vehicle Show returns to Kielder Castle Visitor Centre on May 8, with more than 150 classic and vintage cars taking part.
Wesley Turnbull, from Bellingham, is organising the event in conjunction with the Forestry Commission.
He said: “The 18th century castle provides a stunning backdrop for the show.
“Visitors come from far and wide to see all aspects of motorised transport from the legendary Ford Model T to the 1970’s Morris Marina, along with classic tractors and motorbikes. Last year we even had some stylish Jaguars.”
A rare blue Ford Thames is one of the cars from Mr Turnbull’s personal collection that will be on display. It is one of only 300 to survive anywhere in the world.
Alex Maclennan, who is recreation, leisure and tourism manager with the Forestry Commission, will also be taking part, showing off his 1977 Morris Marina.
He said: “The show is a true family event, and it’s a real pleasure to see people enjoying the day.”
