Police investigating two indecent exposure incidents in Northumberland have arrested a teenager.

The first incident happened when a 33-year-old woman was jogging near to the North Seaton roundabout, just off the Spine Road.

She ran past a man who slapped her bottom and then exposed himself at around 10.30am on Friday, July 19.

The second attack was at 6:05pm on Wednesday, July 24. A 43-year-old woman was walking in Carlton Grove, North Seaton, when she saw a man exposing himself in the street.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of sexual assault and exposure on Monday. He he has now been bailed.

Ashington Neighbourhood Inspector Barrie Joisce said: “Obviously incidents such as this cause concern and behaviour like this will not be tolerated.

“Inquiries into these two incidents have taken place and I’d like to reassure people that we have now made an arrest in connection with them. The investigation is ongoing.”
