PLANS for holiday accommodation in a Northumberland National Park hamlet were turned down last week.

The bid for a bunkhouse and five holiday bothies on land to the rear of Greystones, Lanehead, Tarset was refused by Northumberland National Park’s development management committee. A total of 40 responses were received by the committee, with 25 objecting and 15 in support. The application was refused because of intensification of the site, the location of the bothies within the site, visual impact and amenity and impact on the landscape.
