Ponteland painter Alan Reed in running for national prize

A PONTELAND painter is in the running for a national prize after spending almost three decades perfecting his art.

A PONTELAND painter is in the running for a national prize after spending almost three decades perfecting his art.

Alan Reed, who has lived in the town all his life, has been painting and selling watercolours for the past 26 years.

He has now been selected as one of the finalists for the Bath Prize plein air competition, where all of his five entries have been selected.

The winners will be announced in Bath on September 24.
