PEOPLE in Northumberland will get the chance to raise policing concerns with local officers from the comfort of their own homes.

An online public meeting, which residents from the Bedlington area can take part in via their home computers, is being planned by the new Northumbria Police neighbourhood sergeant.

Sgt Dave Morrison, pictured, whose patch covers Bedlington, Bedlington Station, Guide Post and Stakeford, has 14 years’ experience with the force and has previously worked in Blyth, Newcastle and Berwick in a number of roles.

He said: “I’ve lived in the Northumberland area throughout my police career and am committed to making sure the area remains a safe and enjoyable place for us all to be.

“I want to continue the good work done in the past by the neighbourhood team and build on it.

“I hope to introduce new ways for the public to communicate with police in Bedlington, including an online public meeting encouraging local residents to engage with local officers from the comfort of their own homes.

“We’ll be publicising this very soon and I’d ask that anyone interested checks the website.’’
