A COMMUNITY radio station has signed a new breakfast presenter to help boost their bid to become FM certified.
Local radio star Lee Finan has joined Koast Radio, based in Morpeth, serving South Northumberland on 87.7fm and via the internet, during their trial FM licence.
The station hopes to secure a full-time community licence next summer when they are released by OFCOM.
Lee, who started in hospital radio at just 14 years old went on to have a long career in commercial radio in the North East as well as around the country.
He said “I am delighted to be joining the Koast Team. Community radio is very important and in some ways is filling the gap for locality which has been lost in local radio due to networking and budget cuts. The breakfast show will be lively and fun and we want you, the local people to be involved, so make sure you get in touch.”
