Haltwhistle Walking Festival fast approaching

The Autumn Haltwhistle Walking Festival is fast approaching and due to start on 5th October

Hadrian's Wall

The Autumn Haltwhistle Walking Festival is fast approaching and due to start on 5th October. Bookings are even better than all previous years with walkers coming from all over the UK and even from Canada and the USA, such is the reputation that the walking festivals in Haltwhistle have built up.

It is a busy time for the festival volunteers who are busy making the final checks on all the routes. The weather forecasts are anxiously followed in the hope that any rain will not cause the burns in the area to be flooded at the time of the walks.

There are 21 walks on offer over the nine days of the festival and the Autumn colours will be in full glory. Many of the walks are full or close to being full, but there are plenty of places still available but it is important to book now.

The aim of the festival is to ensure that all of the visitors enjoy their experience of the wonderful countryside around Haltwhistle and that businesses and traders in the town feel some benefit from these additional visitors. Even for those who live locally there will be some paths and views that could be still unexplored!
