RESIDENTS of Blyth put their fitness levels to the test in an intense boot camp session – but it was all for a good cause.

RESIDENTS of Blyth put their fitness levels to the test in an intense boot camp session – but it was all for a good cause.

Members of the public tried their hand at a charity fitness boot camp in aid of Comic Relief.

Dean Coulson, owner of Assert health and fitness, welcomed people from Blyth and beyond to push themselves to the maximum.

Members of the public were able to see what boot camp was all about by making a donation for Red Nose Day and joining in the fun.

Dean said: “I just want to give a massive thank you to everyone who came and supported the Big Red Nose Day boot camp, whether you were watching or if you joined in.

“Overall we managed to raised a whopping £207 for Comic Relief. I would like to thank everyone who came and showed their support.”

Jill Lillie, of Bedlington, said: “Fun day had by all, even my three-year-old daughter joined in.”

Alison Chandler, of Ashington, said: “I found it hard but I will be back.”

Along with the charity boot camp everyone was able to buy tickets for the raffle that was also held, with prizes donated by Assert Fitness and a host of local businesses.

Dean would like to give a special thanks to local businesses Red Beauty from Morpeth, A & J Fruits from Blyth, Holistic Harmony and Stylistix hair salon from Ashington for their prize donations.
