North East Business Executive 2013 Awards: Making a nomination

The awards are open to both the services and manufacturing sectors and will reward business excellence. Candidates must head companies which publish their results

Drive, dynamism and leadership. These are just some of the qualities the judges will be looking for in the 2012 North East Business Executive of the Year Awards.

The awards are open to both the services and manufacturing sectors and will reward business excellence. Candidates must head companies which publish their results.

The judges will be looking for someone who has an impressive track record when it comes to company achievements in turnover, profitability, re-investment, job creation, sales growth and future potential. Other issues such as export achievements will also be taken into consideration if appropriate.

The companies can be big, medium or small and while the bottom line will not be the sole focus they must stand out with their performance. In exceptional circumstances a company's turnover or profit may not be very high for a firm of its size and field. But if the individual behind it has shown extraordinary talent in overcoming corporate adversity, such as turning it round or reshaping it dramatically for the better, that would be worthy of consideration.

The candidates should have demonstrated drive and dynamism in performance, be a fitting representative of business generally in the region and perhaps have contributed to some aspect of the region's well being already.

The winner will have shown through past performance a promise of even greater things to come.

All nominations will receive equal consideration but it will not be possible to enter into discussions or correspondence regarding entries.

This is your opportunity to nominate outstanding executives who are making their presence felt in the North East. The business teams at The Journal and the Evening Gazette are already putting together a list of potential names for the judging panel to consider and would like to hear your suggestions too.

All nominations will be considered during a preliminary judging process which will lead to a shortlist from which the winners will be chosen.  The winners will be announced at a gala awards presentation dinner at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel, Gosforth Park on Thursday 14 November 2013.

For further details regarding the process or the awards dinner, please contact Lesley Hampson, Events Manager, Trinity Mirror North East on 0191 201 6435 or email  lesley.hampson@trinitymirror.com
