Budding young actors are in with a chance to hook a role in a pantomime favourite which will see them perform alongside former Neighbours star Mark Little.
This weekend The Playhouse in Whitley Bay is holding open auditions for Peter Pan - its coming highlight of the festive season - and four roles for eight to 12-year-old boys are up for grabs.
Those successful will role-share as John and Michael Darling, the boys who are whisked off with sister Wendy to Neverland by the boy who never grows up in J M Barrie’s classic children’s tale.
Blue Genie Entertainment’s new panto based on the novel stars Mark Little, best known for his long-running role as Joe Mangle in Australian hit series Neighbours, and the new cast members, each sharing one of the two parts, will be taking to the stage with him throughout the show’s December 17-January 5 run.
Workshop-style auditions will take place at the theatre from 9.30am on Saturday.
Hopefuls will be required to read from a script and they should also come prepared with a song, with a backing track, and be available to return on the Sunday if necessary.
