Millions watched this weekend as The X Factor judges each selected their three finalists for the beginning of the ITV1 entertainment series’ live shows on Saturday.
Tears were shed, hugs were dished out and controversy was courted as Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Louis Walsh and Mel B decided who was good enough to be on their team in the long-running music competition.
And this was apparently enough information for the promoters of the X Factor’s touring arm when it comes to selling tickets for the show’s annual tour.
Yes that’s right, the dates for the X Factor tour have been announced, with Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena being booked in to host an as-yet unknown combination of the finalists on February 26.
Kicking off on February 13 in Belfast, The X Factor 2015 Live Tour will be a UK and Ireland-wide arena tour which will also travel to Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield, featuring contestants performing classic songs and viewers’ favourites from the TV series.
Although it may seem strange to think people would buy tickets for a concert where the line-up of artists is yet to be confirmed, these tours have got form.
Attended by more than three million people, The X Factor Live Tour has been one of the most successful annual arena tours in the UK for the past decade.
Tickets, which start at £19.50 go on sale on Friday, October 10 at 9am from the box office 0844 493 6666 or online at www.metroradioarena.co.uk
