Other notables to look out for include The Bluefields, Gordie Mackeeman and his Rhythm Boys, Samantha Crain and Smoke Fairies.

Meanwhile veteran North East promoters Jumpin’ Hot return on Saturday July 20 to pepper an outdoor stage with free music including performances from 50s-style blues quartet The King Bees; Californian all-girl five-piece Rainbow Girls; country singer Mighty Phil Lee; Bill Kirchen Trio; Leeroy Stagger and John Turrell (one half of Geordie soul outfit Smoove and Turrell) and his Band.

And of course as well as the music, there’s also an accompanying film programme, street kitchen, river cruise and feast of family stuff to look forward to.
