If you love live music, then here is a round-up of gigs that are taking place this month.

Coquin Migale at Head of Steam, Newcastle

Alt/indie band Coquin Migale are playing at the Head of Steam on Sunday February 1 and will be joined on stage by three other North East bands - Mouses, Avenues and Bernaccia. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £4.

Simon Taylor & The Sundowners at The Bridge Hotel, Newcastle

The Latin/jazz/funk five-piece are holding a launch night for their new single, Hot Love, at The Bridge Hotel on Friday February 6. There will also be performances from soul-funk four-piece Sol Vedhara and singer-songwriter Lesley Roley. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5 or £4 from the band in advance.

Enter the Lexicon at Head of Steam, Newcastle

The alternative-rock three-piece are playing at Head of Steam on Tuesday February 24 as part of their UK tour. They will be supported by duo King Canute who have been described as ‘a rock band you can dance to’. Tickets cost £6.

King Bee at Jam Jah, Durham

Funk band King Bee are playing at Jam Jah, Allington House, in Durham on Friday February 27. Doors open at 8pm and King Bee are on stage at 10.30pm. Admission is £5 on the door.

Silent Houses at The Music Lounge, Stockton
