Little Mix will be kicking off their biggest UK tour yet in Birmingham tomorrow night, and will promptly hot foot it up to the North East for night two on Saturday.
The Metro Radio Arena will play host to the all-female pop quartet - and former X Factor winners - on Saturday night, which means one half of the band, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall could probably make it home to South Shields in time for supper, should they wish.
“We’re so excited to be preparing for our first arena tour,” said the girls in a suitably harmonious statement.
“It’s incredible to think we’ll be playing for so many people every night. We are going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s as unforgettable for our Mixers as it will be for us.”
Perrie, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade recently returned to the charts with their second album Salute, the long-playing follow up to their smash hit debut, DNA.
Either writing or co-writing nine tracks themselves, collaborators across the album included up-and-comer Duvall, who added sampled beat boxing and vocal flourishes to Move, while MNEK lent his hand to the explosive euphoria of Nothing Feels Like You.
TMS, the team behind smash hits Wings and DNA, once again combined with the band for the single Little Me.
They’ve also put their stamp on the charts of countries all over the world, with DNA being certified gold in Australia, and Top five in Japan.
Meanwhile in the US they broke the Spice Girls’ record for the highest ever US chart debut by a British girl group, entering the hit parade at number four.
Tickets for Saturday’s gig are available from the Arena box office on 0844 493 6666 or online at www.metroradioarena.co.uk
