Echo and the Bunnymen have been forced to cancel their Newcastle gig tonight

Echo and the Bunnymen’s gig at the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre tonight has been cancelled.

The Liverpudlian band, who are touring in support of their new album, Meteorites - their first in five years - have announced that the concert will not go ahead due to ‘ill health’.

At this time, they say they are unable to reschedule a date and are encouraging people to seek a ticket refund at their point of purchase.

Black Submarine, who are supporting on the tour have decided to make the best of a bad situation and will play a free show tonight instead at The Cluny, Newcastle.

Amelia Tucker from the band will open with an acoustic set at 8.30pm with Black Submarine taking to the stage at 9.15-10.15pm. All are welcome... but especially ticket holders for the postponed show at the Tyne Theatre.

Black Submarine are half of The Verve plus the string arranger from Coldplay/ Goldfrapp and an ex Portishead drummer. What’s not to like?

For more information on the gig cancellation and for refunds, contact the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre on 0844 493 9999 or online at www.millvolvotynetheatre.co.uk
